Hello,
My name is Jake Onstott, and I utilize art as a tool to better see the world.
If you see me in person, please tell me if I have charcoal smeared on my face. If I have oil paint all over my shirt, please don’t tell my wife I ruined another piece of clothing.
As a Firefighter and Paramedic, I first took up art as a creative outlet to deal with stress. Art has since become less of a coping mechanism, and more of a journey I’m on to better understand myself and the world around me. It is a journey to witness what makes us special as humans. It is a journey to better understand how connected we all are, despite our differences. It is a journey to witness what is worth staying still for.
Join me in this journey.
